When Paula Heaps Moses came to speak on September 7th, ENC responded with gracious giving and additional funds were raised along with the VBS offering back in July. With those funds, the school was able to purchase 4 new computers and surge protectors as well as divided "motivation funds" from the excess offering and distributed to all the staff as a "welcome back" bonus. We are thrilled to help bear the load.
While Paula was here, she introduced to you the beginnings of Child Sponsorship for the orphans attending the school. This is were we need to add prayer support. Would you pray that our Nazarene Missions Headquarters can quickly arrange these details so many children can begin to have monetary support as well. These youngsters have already lost their parents in the ongoing unrest of their country. They have made it to a loving and caring environment where they can learn and have a steady Christian background to build their lives upon, yet they are small and need the help NOW. Here is what the school administrator had to say to ENC, along with a picture of staff (and a couple of extra photo bombers who are precious)!
"Greetings from all the team members of the Heaps Christian school in Congo Brazzaville. Yesterday all the staff and teachers requested me to express their gratitude to the Heaps' family, the calvary church and the Ebenezer church for their prayers, moral support and the motivation funds. They all say thank you very much.
Also, this morning, I called the regional NCM office to explain them about the urgency of the Francis David Heaps CDC center project and they promised me to examine our request by earlier next week and give me their feedback next week by the grace of God. So, we keep praying for them to speed the process. God bless you all in Jesus Christ name."
